Crackers burnt for diwali
"One man's meat is another man's poison "
This proverb can be applied to several situations. In simple words, what is good for one can be dangerous for another. The same goes for the festive seasons, the present being Diwali. People all around India, in fact, all around the world, join their family and friends in celebrating this auspicious festival. The family together carries out the various traditions they missed out on in the past two years because of the pandemic. Burning the different varieties of crackers brings a certain joy to the children, teenagers, and youth. The adults, while assisting or keeping a watch on the eager children, are flooded with memories of their own childhood. But these crackers don't bring joy to everyone.
Every year, a disaster management protocol is revoked during the 3 days of Diwali (pre-diwali, diwali, and post-diwali). This is directly supervised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India. This is because of the various cases of injuries caused by accidents while burning crackers. Apart from this, the burning of crackers causes air and noise pollution.ith the increase in deforestation and air pollution, this only adds to the damage we do to our environment. Some places, like Delhi, are quite literally wrestling with low air quality and other serious problems. The loud pop sounds made by these crackers not only affect our senior citizens but also frighten the animals.
Due to these issues, burning crackers is partially or completely banned in some parts of the country. In other parts, the use of harmful crackers has been banned, promoting the use of green crackers. Apart from this, there is a time limit of about two hours during which the burning of crackers is allowed. However, in recent years, people have become aware of these issues, and many have stopped or switched to safer practices.
In my opinion, a complete or partial ban on crackers depends on the condition of the area and the need of the hour. I also believe a sudden ban on crackers may be difficult for many. A partial ban or switch to green crackers will cause less damage and also be environmentally friendly. So this Diwali, let's make the switch to green crackers.
Happy Diwali to one and all !!!!!!✨✨✨
